The Legacy We Carry seeks to honor a mother, father, or spouse who has taken a courageous step beyond their comfort zone to learn the craft of firearms training in service of protecting their family and loved ones.

This nominee has demonstrated meaningful growth, dedication, and commitment to their journey — approaching training with intention, responsibility, and care. Their story reflects not just skill developed, but the deeper motivation behind it: love, protection, and legacy.

How to Nominate

Nominations are open to anyone who would like to recognize a mother, father, or spouse whose firearms journey reflects growth, responsibility, and care for their family.

To nominate someone, please submit the nomination form and share a brief description of:

  • Who they are and their role within their family

  • What motivated them to begin or continue their firearms training

  • How they have grown or stepped outside their comfort zone

  • Why their journey deserves to be honored

Nominations may be submitted by the individual themselves or by a friend, partner, or family member. All submissions are reviewed thoughtfully and with respect.

The Legacy We Carry is a collaborative storytelling project honoring mothers and fathers who have chosen to learn the craft of firearms training in service of protecting their families.

This project focuses on the people behind the practice — the parents who show up, train with intention, and carry responsibility with care. Through photography and documentation, each selected participant’s journey is captured with respect, highlighting growth, discipline, and the quiet motivations that drive them forward.

These stories are not about fear or bravado, but about love, preparation, and the legacy we build for those who depend on us.
